Inspire Yourself to Success

Normally, the start of a new year is a time of optimism, energy, and enthusiasm. We look ahead at all that is possible, we set some 'resolutions,' and then get at it.

Clearly though, 2010 finds us in challenging times. The economy feels like it is being held together with a paper clip. Economic data points to a prolonged period of difficulty. Companies are shedding jobs, and businesses of all scales are finding it difficult to get the credit they need to grow.

Layer on a bit of the winter doldrums, and you would be forgiven if a hint of pessimism or frustration began to take root.

But you know what? Don't let it.

Look at Amazon's latest financial results: Huge sales. Same with Apple, and other companies. What's the message here? People still need what you have to offer. They need your products. They need your services. They need your expertise.

They need you.

So don't be down. Be inspired.

There is a huge treasure trove of online resources to help you get inspired. In the end, however, I think that inspiration comes from being open to and mindful of the 'new.'  A new approach, a new awareness, a new perspective. Be prepared to step outside yourself and then act on what you find.

Need some new new-ness? Here are a few tips to get started:
